Who We Are
Angel City Aerials is a professional drone services company founded in 2017 by award-winning aerial cinematographer Matt Dutcher and Skeye Imaging founder Ryan Wewers. What began as a shared commitment to producing exceptional aerial imagery has grown into a versatile operation serving clients across entertainment, real estate, construction, industrial inspection, mapping, and other specialized fields.
Today, Angel City Aerials provides everything from cinematic drone footage and VFX plates to construction documentation, aerial inspections, photogrammetry, and scanning. Some clients come to us with a precise shot list or data request; others need help determining what is possible. In either case, we build the operation around the client’s goals, location, timeline, and required deliverables.

Matt Dutcher
Originally from the Detroit area, Matt became an early adopter of professional drone technology. He quickly recognized that drones could do far more than capture dramatic establishing shots—they could give filmmakers, businesses, and project teams access to perspectives and information that would otherwise be difficult or costly to obtain.

Founder of Angel City Aerials
Originally from the Detroit area, Matt became an early adopter of professional drone technology. He quickly recognized that drones could do far more than capture dramatic establishing shots—they could give filmmakers, businesses, and project teams access to perspectives and information that would otherwise be difficult or costly to obtain.
Matt’s work has appeared on streaming platforms, including Netflix and Hulu, and in projects for brands such as Nike, Sony, and Toyota. His timelapse films have also been selected for and screened at film festivals around the country.
With more than a decade of drone-operating experience, Matt continues to explore new aircraft, camera systems, capture techniques, and data-driven workflows. His work now spans aerial cinematography, full-frame 8K imaging, photogrammetry, scanning, construction documentation, and specialized commercial drone projects.

Ryan founded Skeye Imaging to meet the growing demand for professional aerial photography and video captured by knowledgeable, legally compliant drone operators. In 2017, he joined forces with Matt to create Angel City Aerials and expand those capabilities across a broader range of creative and commercial projects.
As an FAA Part 107-certified drone pilot with experience in camera and fleet operations, Ryan brings a practical, operations-focused perspective to every project. His attention to planning, safety, and execution complements Matt’s cinematography background, allowing Angel City Aerials to approach each assignment with both creative vision and technical precision.
