Commercial drone filming in jurisdictions served by FilmLA requires a filming permit, along with the applicable drone documentation and insurance. Requirements depend on the location and activity. Share your locations early so we can coordinate the drone details with your production or location team and identify any necessary airspace approvals.
We’re authorized for operations over people within the conditions of our approval. Crowd flights require a specific review of the proposed operation; permission to fly over people doesn’t automatically cover every crowd or event. Send us the location and planned shot so we can confirm a suitable approach.
We plan the camera setup and capture requirements with your team before the shoot. Share your camera specifications, intended look, framing references, and delivery needs so we can discuss how the aerial footage will fit your production.
Send your filming location, preferred date, expected time on-site, and a brief description of the coverage. A shot list, storyboard, or visual reference is helpful if you have one. We’ll review the creative and practical requirements, then provide a quote based on the scope. We offer both full and half day rates.
